I am a minimally invasive (keyhole) general and colorectal surgeon based in Dorset on the south coast of the United Kingdom. I am a certified robotic/ laparoscopic colorectal and general surgeon with special interest in colorectal cancer and treatment of pelvic floor disorders such as prolapse, incontinence and constipation. My interests in general surgery include laparoscopic hernia surgery, complex abdominal wall hernia and haemorrhoids. I have published papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at several meetings in my areas of interest.
I hold a Master of Medical Science Degree with Distinction in Cancer Studies from the University of Sheffield, UK; MB, BS (primary medical qualification) from Nigeria’s premier University, The University of Ibadan, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education for Surgeons (PGCMedEd) from the University of Dundee. I hold a Fellowship in General Surgery (FRCS Gen.Surg) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Surgeons of England.
I have gained considerable management and leadership skills in my roles as Clinical Director for Surgery at Poole Hospital, Lead Clinician for colorectal cancer since 2016 and Specialty Lead for Colorectal Surgery. In my role as clinical director, I gained considerable experience in medical leadership and played a significant role in supporting my specialty through a huge transformation programme with the merger of Poole and Royal Bournemouth hospitals to form the new University Hospitals Dorset.
I am passionate about patient safety and quality improvement and have brought my experience of implementing patient safety programmes in Africa to my NHS work. I am currently a trustee of three charities working to provide free basic healthcare, clean drinking water and quality education to underprivileged children in the Sahel region of West Africa.
My aspiration is to continue pushing the boundaries of my surgical expertise, imbibing new technology like the next generation of robots. I will seek opportunities to further develop my clinical and leadership skills. I will continue to transfer my knowledge and skills to the next generation of surgeons.

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, reading (history and politics) and the great outdoors with my family. I am also a keen tennis player, cyclist and enjoy running. I have also discovered the joys of skiing and now doing red runs.
I spend about a third of my holidays doing charitable work in Africa.
